The madness behind the belief: Superstition expert explains fan rituals

While some might chalk these behaviors up to coincidence, one researcher at the University of Kentucky suggests there’s more at play. Jenny Rice, Ph.D., professor in the UK Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies in the College of Arts and […]

Pike couple enters Alford pleas in abuse case doctors likened to torture
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County couple has pleaded guilty in a child abuse case that doctors likened to torture. Jerome Norman, 44, and Mary Hall, 43, both of Raccoon, entered blind Alford pleas to one count of first-degree abuse and two amended counts of second-degree abuse. An Alford plea functions as a guilty plea, but allows a defendant to maintain innocence while acknowledging the evidence in the case would likely result in a conviction. Dig deeper into the Story of God with Bible Gateway Plus
“‘In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.’ When I think there was a day when a human hand first wrote those words, I am filled with awe. This sentence is a masterpiece of compression.
