Perry woman arrested on child porn charges
HAZARD, Ky. — A Perry County woman has been arrested on child porn charges, following an investigation by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch. Megan Combs, 36, of Hazard, is charged with four counts possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor younger than 12. The charge is a felony, punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison. KSP says it began investigating Combs after discovering she had been sharing images online. State officials confirm leg found at Dewey Lake not human
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Officials with the State Medical Examiner’s Office have confirmed that a leg found Monday night at Dewey Lake is not human in origin, the Floyd County Coroner’s Office said on Tuesday. The discovery resulted in a social media uproar, after a transcript of a 911 call reporting a “human leg with shoe” had been found at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park was shared. Amber Spradlin hearing rescheduled after judge injured in fall
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A hearing in the Amber Spradlin murder case that had been set for last Friday was abruptly canceled that morning. Now, we know why the hearing was canceled and when it will take place instead. In an order filed in the case on Monday, Special Judge Eddy Coleman said he was forced to cancel the hearing after being injured in a fall. He added that injury will require surgery, which has been scheduled for Tuesday. The hearing has now been rescheduled for 10 a.m., April 23, in Pike Circuit Court.

Louisa woman charged with auto theft for not returning U-Haul truck
LOUISA, Ky. — A Lawrence County woman has been arrested after police say she rented a truck and refused to take it back. Ironton, Ohio, Police Department contacted Louisa Police on Friday about the theft. They said they had received a report from U-Haul that Amber Lynn Mitchell, 39, of Louisa, had rented a truck from the company on March 21 and had not returned it. When the company contacted Mitchell about the truck, she allegedly told them she was not bringing it back.
