Former DACE employee indicted on federal child exploitation charges
LONDON, Ky. — A former employee of the Floyd County school system who is under indictment for rape and other charges connected to a student is now facing federal charges as well. Darion Breann Huff, 32, of Garrett, was working as a teacher’s assistant and tutor at Duff Allen Central Elementary during the 2021-22 school year, when she is accused of making advances and sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy. UK MBB: Men’s Basketball Conference Opponents Unveiled for 2026-27
PRESS RELEASE: UK ATHLETICS BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Additional pieces to the 2026-27 Kentucky men’s basketball schedule were unveiled by the Southeastern Conference on Thursday. The Wildcats are slated to play all 15 league foes at least once and will tangle with Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt in home-and-home fashion. Knott receives $2.1 million to expand wastewater treatment
HINDMAN, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear and Congressman Hal Rogers have announced $2.1 million in Abandoned Mine Lands Economic Revitalization funding for a major wastewater project in Knott County. The funding will help expand the Ball Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, more than doubling its capacity from 100,000 gallons per day to 250,000 gallons. State officials say the project will support hundreds of new homes and future development in Knott and Perry counties, including the Chestnut Ridge, Olive Branch, Hickory Hills and Phoenix housing developments, as well as the relocated Robinson Elementary School. Couple facing felony assault after fight at Pikeville Walmart
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County couple is facing felony assault charges, following a fight with another couple in the Pikeville Walmart parking lot. It happened around 6:30 p.m., Wednesday. According to the police report, a woman was in the Community Trust Bank branch inside of Walmart, when Crystal Davidson, 38, allegedly approached her and began yelling at her, saying the woman had bullied Davidson at work.
