Buchanan County man arrested for fleeing crash, leaving four children behind
MOUTHCARD, Ky. — A Buchanan County man has been arrested after he allegedly crashed his car and fled the scene on foot, leaving four children behind. Police were called around 7 p.m. Monday, after a small child walked into a store at Mouthcard to say he had been in a wreck and a male was bleeding. Kentucky State Police found the car on South River Road with four children inside. Police learned that the driver, identified as Ryan Wilson, 37, of Maxie, Va., had left on foot after the crash. He was found walking about a mile-and-a-half from the wreck. […]

Domestic call leads to three drug trafficking arrests
RICHARDSON, Ky. — Police called to a possible domestic dispute Sunday in Lawrence County ended up finding a variety of narcotics and arresting three people for drug trafficking. Two state troopers and a sheriff’s deputy responded to the call, and after questioning some people at the scene, were given permission to enter the home. Inside the home, they immediately spotted some drug paraphernalia, so they obtained a search warrant, which resulted in the discovery of meth, fentanyl, cocaine, pills, marijuana and paraphernalia. Former Emory & Henry football coach who got his start in Dickenson County remembered
by RODERICK MULLINS ABINGDON, Va. — Former Dickenson County Public Schools teacher and Ervinton High School head football coach Curt Newsome has died at the age of 67. A graduate of Phoebus High School, Va., Newsome went on to play collegiately at Emory and Henry College. Upon graduation, his first coaching job would take him to Dickenson County to head up a struggling Ervinton Rebels football program. Floyd man arrested after woman stabbed
ENDICOTT, Ky. — A Floyd County man is in jail after police say he stabbed a woman Monday evening. Police were called to a home on the Right Fork of Home Branch, where a 45-year-old woman had been stabbed multiple times. After the attack the assailant, who the victim identified as Eddie Dmitruk, 58, of Prestonsburg, ran away from the residence. Police say the woman was stabbed twice in the chest, once in the elbow and once in the armpit.
