ASHLAND, Ky. — A California health care company has won an initial procedural victory in its lawsuit over ownership of the former Bellefonte Hospital property, as a federal court clerk entered a default against one of the defendants after it failed to respond to the case. Pike woman asks for leniency ahead of child porn sentencing
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County woman who pleaded guilty to producing child pornography earlier this year is now asking for mercy when she is sentenced. Pamela Denise Sargent, 44, of Kimper, pleaded guilty back in March to two counts of producing child pornography, in exchange to two additional charges being dropped. In her plea agreement, she admitted to producing a sexually explicit video of herself with a toddler-aged boy and another of two toddler-aged boys with each other. KSP makes 28 arrests, seizes more than $100K in drugs during roundup
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police Post 9 successfully concluded Operation Mountain Justice, an operation targeting suspected drug trafficking networks operating throughout the Post 9 district. The operation resulted in 28 arrests, 54 total criminal charges, and the seizure of illegal drugs with a street value totaling more than $102,000. Post 9 troopers and detectives participated in the coordinated enforcement effort, which led to the seizure of approximately 4.7 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 130 grams of suspected fentanyl, three firearms and approximately $1,500 in cash. KSP investigates Letcher County shooting
McROBERTS, Ky. — One Letcher County man is in the hospital and another is in jail, following a shooting on Sheas Fork at McRoberts. Troopers responded to the scene just after 4 p.m. Monday and located an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel before being transported to Whitesburg ARH Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. KSP arrests Floyd couple after finding meth at two homes
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Floyd County couple was arrested after police found drugs in two homes. Kentucky State Police’s Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East unit had been investigating John Mark McKenzie, 54, and executed a search warrant Monday evening at an East Point residence where he had been staying. McKenzie was not home at the time, but the search turned up meth and digital scales.
