LONDON, Ky. — A Letcher County woman has lost the first round of her lawsuit against the Jenkins Independent School District for banning her from schools, but the case is continuing. Elizabeth Jones is suing district and several individuals affiliated with it, after she received a letter from the board’s attorney telling her she was not allowed to visit any of the district’s schools or attend any district-sponsored events. PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — An incident at Prestonsburg High School this week is shedding light on the potential for a new type of threat from artificial intelligence. In a statement provided to Mountain Top News after questioning about the incident, the Floyd County School District says school officials are working with law enforcement following an incident involving AI-generated images and video connected to students. Martin County Stuns Pikeville in 15th Region All-A Tournament
BY ALEX LINDSEY JR – SPORTS INTERN Martin County defeated Pikeville 75-54 to win the All-A Boys Basketball Tournament championship. Braxton Keathley led Martin County with 26 points. He scored 10 points in the first quarter as Martin County jumped out to a 19-8 lead. Guard Eli Mills added 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to keep the Panthers from getting back into the game. Bryson Dials and Devan Maynard also finished in double figures to help secure the championship win. Keathley was the tournament’s standout performer.
