Man accused of taking child with him to steal refrigerator
ROBINSON CREEK, Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested after police say he was caught in the act trying to steal a refrigerator from a home. Kentucky State Police was called Sunday afternoon to Collins Highway over a report of a burglary in progress. The property owner told police he saw a man and child entering the house on his security camera, so he went to the location and blocked the driveway to keep them from leaving. Woman awaiting sentencing in federal drug case arrested for meth trafficking
META, Ky. — A Letcher County woman who pleaded guilty a federal meth distribution conspiracy charge last month has been arrested for meth trafficking again. Just before 1 a.m., Saturday, a state trooper pulled over a truck traveling 35 miles an hour along U.S. 119 near the Zebulon exit. The driver, 39-year-old Britia Noel Johnson, of McRoberts, turned over her license and registration, and the officer soon learned she had a lengthy criminal history and was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service in Virginia. UPIKE dance team wins first national title
DAYTONA, Fla. – The University of Pikeville dance team has claimed its first national championship. The Bears won the NAIA Jazz Division of the NCA and NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship on Friday. And now, the rest of the story: The Bears won the title competing with only two dancers.
